Services:
I am happy to provide a free half-hour consultation for anyone interested in learning more about Doula Luna Services. My basic scope of care is to meet withyou before labor to become acquainted, to discuss your preferences and priorities, and figure out how we can keep you as comfortable as possible. I will also support you in creating a birth plan. I will be on-call for you twenty-four hours a day for two weeks before to two weeks after your duedate. I will remain with you throughout labor and birth. As your doula, I am working for you, not your caregiver or hospital. I draw on my professional training, knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical relief, and, as needed, communication with your care givers to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort. Other relevant training and experience I offer includes photography, massage, and qigong healing exercises and breath-work. I will remain with you for an hour or two after birth, and I can help with initial breastfeeding, if you’d like. The fee for doula care is a sliding-up scale of $400-600. The price of care is $400; you can choose to pay up to $200 more depending on quality of care, time spent in labor, travel costs, and very importantly, your ability to pay.

Qualifications: I have a wide range of birth experience, from apprenticeship to a Mayan midwife in Guatemala to studying labor support at Seattle Midwifery School. I have completed a doula-training program accredited by the international organization Doulas of North America (DONA). I have attended an array of births from water births at home to Bellingham Birth Center births; from hospital births to home births in the volcanic foothills of Guatemala.
Personal notes:
I believe that women in all types of birthing settings with different degrees of support can benefit from the support of a doula, catered to their unique needs and desires.  I strive to discover what is most helpful and beneficial for each birth, for each woman, for each family. I provide that care calmly and simply to enable you and your baby to have a peaceful and empowering transition through childbirth.
