Qualifications: I'm a trained Doula thru ALACE working on my certificaton req.,I've attended 5 births,countless friends & I've had 4 children of my own.

Personal notes: I have many reasons why I am a Doula. I have always been fascinated by the way a woman can nurture a creation of love inside her body and develop an unconditional bond within herself. Then, over a few months time, be able to deeply understand her body more than any book can ever imagine. After all this, be able to give life to a baby that once wasn't there. This, to me, is the most empowering thing a woman can do. Another reason is that to me, this is not work. I want every woman to have the best birth experience possible. My personal side to this is I was very young when I had my first daughter. I had very little money, if any. I never knew of this kind of service. Of course, you hear of midwives (pre-historic stories) but even if I knew where to go for these kinds of services, in my eyes, they had to be expensive. So why try, right? So many years later, I am now helping women regardless of money. I do this because I care.
