Experienced in home and hospital birth; including cesarean. Nursing and doula experience as follows: breastfeeding support, nursery and postpartum units and childbirth education. As a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) I can provide comprehensive breastfeeding coaching and support. I specialize in teaching optimal fetal positioning for birth, and providing guidance in your search for a care provider who will honor and support your desires and birth plans.

Personal notes: I have a "sister figure" style when working as a doula. I am a Canadian who has been married 10 years, with no children (yet!) I come from a large family; my mother was a nurse. Attending my siblings' births inspired me! I wanted to learn ways for women to cope positively with labor. Now I know MANY ways to care for laboring women and relieve her pain outside of medications. I also know how to maximize the benefits of medications used in labor when needed. I can help partners to support the woman and participate fully in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. I want to answer women�s questions, and help families seek out evidence-based care. You do not have to give up comfort, satisfaction or dignity to have the safest childbirth possible!
