Services: - I will gladly meet with you early in your pregnancy so that we can become acquainted with each other (including introducing you to my backup) and discuss whether or not we are a good fit. This can also be a great time for you to ask questions about different birthing resources that you'd like help finding including books, care providers, childbirth educators, and more. - Then, as you get closer to your due date I love to reconvene and talk more specifically about what you envision for your birth and how you'd like me to support you in achieving this vision. This is a great time to talk about your comfort preferences, and any major hopes or fears you might want me to be aware of before you begin laboring. - I will make myself available to you at all hours of the day and night for two weeks before and after your due date. This means that you can call me if you feel like you might be beginning labor and you just need to chat, ask me to come to your home and be with you during early labor, suggest that I meet you at your birth site, whatever you need: the point is that I'm all yours during this time. - I will, of course, provide emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual support for you throughout your entire labor. In the unlikely situation that I am myself ill or distracted by some emergency, my wonderful backup will provide the same support in her own unique way. - After your birth, I'd like to meet with you to reconstruct the story of your birth. This is a great time for reflection with someone who was with you through your whole labor.

Qualifications: DONA educated, Bachelors of Arts in Medical and Feminist Anthropology

Personal notes: As the youngest of four daughters, I have always had an unyielding interest in the lives of women. This passion has led me to studying Medical Anthropology at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York where I focus on the reproductive experiences of North American women. I have conducted extensive independent research on issues of pregnancy, childbirth, and childrearing in my capacity as an undergraduate student and plan to continue along this fulfilling path as I work on getting an M.D. / PhD. I am a passionate learner, not just for the sake of academics, but for seeking out the powerful secrets of femininity and hopefully, helping other women find their own. I can't wait to meet you!
