Birth Doula Service
Having a doula present during childbirth is an ancient practice. These doulas of times past reassured and empowered the laboring woman. They gave her confidence that she could make that journey, she was safe, and she was never alone.

Services: There is a myth that doulas only provide care for those interested in natural childbirth/unmedicated births. Far from the truth! Doulas provide care for women with and without medication, women who have vaginal births, unaccompanied teen mothers, women who have disabilities, women who plan cesarean sections, women who have unplanned cesarean sections and women who are planning a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). Since the core of the doula's belief is to make this the very best birth experience for a woman, the doula can be a benefit regardless of the special circumstances surrounding a birth.
Qualifications: I am a professionally trained birth doula currently working on my certification through DONA (Doulas of North America). DONA is one of several respected national organizations whose sole purpose is to train women in the art of supporting other women in all phases of their pregnancy.
Personal notes: I am married to a wonderfully supportive man and we have a beautiful daughter whom I gave birth to in 1991! I have a private doula practice and I serve clients in all of the Western Nebraska Panhandle.
