Services: My services include three prenatal appointments. During these appointments we will view birthing videos, discuss relaxation techniques, review and practice movement and positions for labor and birth, discuss birth options and birth plans, and develop trust between each other.
I will be available to women and their families 24 hours a day the 2 weeks before and 2weeks after the estimated due date as well as for the entire labor and delivery until breastfeeding has been established those first few hours post partum. Finally, I will come to the home for a post partum visit to check on the well being of the new mother and family. At this visit I will relive the birth experience from my point of view, listen to the mother's memeories, as well as provide a written birth story for the family.
I welcome unlimited phone calls from mothers and families for any questions or concerns that may arise prenatally and postpatum.

Personal notes: I am a 1993 graduate of Boston College's School of Education. I was trained as a doula in October of 2000 by Doulas of North America. Since that time I have attended a wide spectrum of births ranging from natural home births to planned cesarean births.
I homebirthed my own daughter in January of 2003 with the help of my midwives, my husband, and my doula sister. I honor each individual birth experience with a belief in the mother's strength to birth in her own way.
