Let this birth be your Crowning Achievement. Empowering women one birth at a time.

Services: I provide birth doula services which means I like to see you and your support network at least once(hopefully more) before your birth to go over some of the things you would like to see happen at your birth. If you need help writing a birth plan, I'm available for that and help with any questions you may have about procedures or generally anything.
From approximately two weeks before your due date I'm on call at all times for your questions and concerns and am present for the birth of your child to support you and help you achieve your birth goals. Afterwards I like to see you about a week after the birth to process the birth with you and see if there is anything I can help with(questions I can answer). I also offer postpartum doula services, so this is often a time when that might become something to talk about.
As your postpartum doula I will talk with you about your birth, and continue to help you with breastfeeding. I also cook meals that you've laid out to prepare and clean. My job is to make you feel comfortable in your home while freeing up your time to be with your baby. I also run errands and take care of baby while you shower or nap. One client said she really looked forward to the time when I was with her, she had a fussy baby and he responded really well to massage and gentle touch.
I also am able to educate you on breastfeeding and pregnancy, with emphasis on procedures(why you may want to use them, or not).
Qualifications: DONA trained. Have helped many women breastfeed through a whole host of problems. I keep myself up to date by moderating forums at www.drjaygordon.com and helping to keep the links updated and fresh.
I am also a Reiki healer.
Personal notes: I'm a mom to two beautiful girls whom I homeschool. I have felt passionately about doula work since I learned of it and realized how helpful it could have been in the births of my daughters. I felt I wanted women to have support not only for them but for their support people also, so that in case of an emergency noone is left to handle everything like my husband did. And so I started researching doulas and have never stopped.
I'm also the secretary of the local MOMS club and have enjoyed involvement with that.
