Services: I offer labor and postpartum support, which encompasses education on the many options available to laboring women including natural pain management. I am willing to help you and your birth partner create a birth plan and ensure that the plan is followed as requested. My forte is providing physical and emotional support as well as encouragement to not only the new mother, but to the birth partner and family as well.
I will come to your home during your pregnancy starting as early as your fourth month in order to get to know you and your birthing partner. It is my goal to learn about your wishes for your birth as well as the fears that you and your partner may have. After the baby is born I will visit twice during the first month to help with small errands, breastfeeding concerns, or even help with the baby so you may rest. All you need to do is ask for what you need and I will more than likely be able to help.
Qualifications: I am currently in training to become a certified doula with DONA and CAPPA. In order to complete the courses I need to participate in three births. Here is your chance to have a labor doula for FREE!
Personal notes: I am a mother of two wonderful children. Each of my pregnancies had a difficulties and joys that I am more than willing to share with you. My deliveries were both in a hospital with out the use of epidurals. Though we live in Shakopee I serve women through out the Twin Cities area. I feel that my role is to encourage and pamper the new mother and help calm any fears that you or your partner may have. There is nothing more exciting than the birth of a child and it is my goal to make each birth that I help with a memorable, magical, positive experience!
