Services: Serving women during pregnancy, in labor and postpartum. My role as a Doula is to provide non-intrusive, nonjudgmental support according to the family's needs and wishes. The act of giving birth affects the entire life of a woman. I am also there to preserve the environment for the birthing family and help them to carry out their choices. I provide individualized, caring, respectful support to the birthing women who request my services. My services include prenatal nutrition and basic prepared childbirth education, compassionate and positive labor support, breastfeeding assistance, as well as nurturing postpartum care to include (if requested) very special nutritious and delicious meals. I believe that every birthing woman who wishes to have the support of a doula should receive just that. Qualifications: Provisionally certified as a Doula through BOCES. Member of BOCES. Attended BOCES workshop in August, 2002. In the process of fulfilling all the requirements for certification, one requirement away from completing. Member of MACA.

Personal notes: It is my belief that pregnancy and childbirth are natural physiological processes and that medical intervention should be used cautiously and sparingly, not unnecessarily. I feel it is important to focus on prevention of unnessary intervention through education, nutrition, and fitness. I have been married for 21 years and I am the mother of three sons. Each pregnancy and labor was different. I feel that my experiences will benefit others as I can help them to educate themselves and find their inner strength to bring their child into the world. I hope to provide whatever would be necessary to help make their experience a positive one.
