Qualifications: I have been a labor doula for 4 years and I have completed the certified birth doula training through the DONA International orginzation.

Personal notes: As a birth doula I provide: 2 prenatal visits. On call service for 4 weeks. Explanations of medical procedures and interventions. Emotional support. Help you to create a birth plan. Facilitation of communication between members of laboring woman's birth team. Massage and other non-pharmacological pain relief measures, aromatherapy, any other non-medical comfort techniques, counter pressure, heat/cold relief, birth ball positioning, use of varitey of massage tools. Handmade Hot sox and cool ties to use before, during and after birth (you keep). Positioning suggestions during labor and birth. * Suggestions on birth ball positioning. I will give you a new birth ball (so you don't have to use the hospitals) and we will go over how to use it during labor. Support the partner so that s/he can provide support and encouragement to the laboring woman. * Help to avoid unnecessary interventions. Help with breastfeeding preparation and beginning. Written record of the birth. I'm present during entire labor and afterwards as long as is needed by parent(s). 1 postpartum follow-up visit. Continuous phone and email support for 2 weeks after birth. I will work on a reduced fee or volunteer with bartering service if the need arises. My service fee can be set up in payments so please contact me and we will set up something that will fit your needs.
