Services: I provide birth doula services including: 2 or more pre-natal visits Support during labour and immediately after the birth 2 Follow-up visits at approx. 2 days and 2 weeks. Post-partum services include home support, new mom care, breastfeeding support and anything else needed to make the transition to motherhood a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Qualifications: Trained with Spirited Women in 2001 Took DONA training again in 2003 and have been working as a doula for 7 years. I have had 4 births of my own.

Personal notes: I am a married mother of 4 children from age 3 to 10 years old. I have personally had everything from an induced labour and a cesarean birth to a home water birth attended by midwives. You'll find me to be calm, friendly and a good listener. I'm practical, honest and no matter what nice things I say about myself...the most important thing about hiring ANY Doula is that you feel good about them and comfortable enough with them to be able to ask very personal questions. That's why meeting a Doula a few times is lways recommended. I moved to the valley in 2005 from Calgary where I was an active member of the Doula Services Association and attended the birth of my best friend's baby shortly thereafter. What a lovely introduction to the birthing community here! My philosophy is that every woman deserves to have as much information as she needs to make educated choices for her birth. I am there to support her and to respect the choices she makes. I know that birth can be a wonderful natural experience, and I also know that there can be circumstances which require some intervention. Guiding a woman through this amazing journey into motherhood is a priviledge and honour for me. Being a doula is one of those jobs that's good for the soul!
