I am a birth doula available for women in the KW and surrounding area. A doula does not replace the role of the father during the childbirth experience but rather supports & encourages his participation. A doula’s priority is always MOM.

Services: My service package includes: ~consultation with mom-to-be and/or partner about the benefits of one-to-one support and care of a doula during labour & delivery ~1-2 prenatal visits (discuss birth plan, expectations of birth and/or labour, relaxation techniques) ~Attendance at Labour & Delivery ~1 postnatal visit (follow-up with mom and baby, review labour & childbirth experience, answer questions) ~Birth Story (keepsake for baby) *optional ~Photos (during labour/delivery) *optional ~Communication via telephone & email during pregnancy and after birth of baby ~back-up doulas available ~assistance with accessing community resources for further assistance (breastfeeding support, baby care, health & well-being of mom and baby)

Qualifications: Will be a certified birth doula with the Ontario Perinatal School summer of 2007 and a certified postpartum doula by 2008.

Personal notes: I am a mother of 2 children - a son who will be 5 and a daughter who will be 3. My labour & childbirth experiences were wonderful, thanks to some caring & supportive midwives who were confidant in my body's ability to give birth naturally.
