Services: Antepartum Doula: As your antepartum doula I offer light housecleaning, meal preparation, child care, informational support, hand and foot massage – and a listening ear! Mothers who may find these services helpful include mothers on bed rest, teen mothers, mothers with small children, and anyone who would welcome an extra pair of helping hands.
Labor Doula: As your labor doula I will meet with you 2-3 times prior to your birth to become acquainted with you and your vision for your birth. I can assist in writing a birth plan, and be available by phone and e-mail to answer any questions you may have and provide resources. During labor I will provide emotional support, non-medical comfort measures such as massage, counter pressure, and suggestions for labor positions. After birth I will still be available via phone and e-mail, and will make at least one postpartum visit to review the birth.
Postpartum Doula: As your postpartum doula I provide the same services as mentioned under antepartum doula, with the addition of teaching and/or assisting with newborn care. First-time mothers, mothers who have had a cesarean birth, teen mothers, mothers with young children, and mothers of multiples may welcome the assistance of a postpartum doula.

Personal notes: I am the eldest of 11 children, and certainly view children as blessings from the Lord! I attended the births of my three youngest sisters (one hospital birth and two home births), which began my interest in becoming a doula. I am currently working on my certification as a labor doula through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professionals Association), and have, in the past, apprenticed under a midwife. While I do not hold certifications in the roles of antepartum doula and postpartum doula, I have had several years of experience in providing support in both of these areas. I am well experienced in baby and childcare as well.
