Services: I offer private childbirth classes for couples who can't fit the hospital classes into their schedule, want a more one-on-one approach, or would prefer a stronger focus on natural childbirth. As a birth doula I offer phone "counseling" throughout your entire pregnancy to offer advice, support, suggestions or just a "sympathetic ear". During the last month of pregnancy I am available 24/7 for you. I will be present throughout your labor and delivery, offering continuous support. After the baby is born, I will help establish breastfeeding (if that is what you desire), help you get yourself comfortable and resting and then I will discreetly leave. I call every other day for the first week and remain on call to you throughout that time-frame. My final visit will be usually one to two weeks postpartum to see how you are doing, help you recall your birth and remember details and follow up. I offer post partum services, visiting your home for four-hours daily for as long as we agree upon. I will be there to help you bring baby home from the hospital, get settled and situated at home and start breastfeeding at home (again, if this is what you want). I will assist you in taking the baby for their first pediatrician appointment and help you unravel your new schedule with baby to make sure you are taking care of yourself, bonding with your baby and recovering.

Qualifications: completing DONA certification. All coursework is completed already, pending birth hours.

Personal notes: I am the mother of a wonderful 2 year old son. His birth was a wonderful and life changing experience that has pushed me to be so passionate about the importance of a good birth experience. I had a wonderful waterbirth at Hackettstown hospital with a doula, midwife and my husband present. I also have special experience with birthing if you have a chronic disease, autoimmune disease, (specifically Multiple Sclerosis)gestational diabetes and PuPPP rash
