Empowering women and families is my main goal. I like to focus on helping my clients articulate and define their own standards for giving birth. I then do whatever I can to help them have the best possible birth experience on their terms.

Services: I offer continuous emotional and physical support throughout labor and delivery.
I prefer to schedule at least two prenatal visits to get to know my client and her goals. I can assist with the creation of a birth plan and any questions that arise from it. Postpartum, I like to meet with mom and baby at least once within the weeks following the birth. I use this meeting to review the events of the birth, answer any questions that may have come up and point her in the direction of any community services that she may be interested in.

Qualifications: I am a member of The Doulas of North America, The Doula Services Association and the Tri-City Doulas Group. I took the DONA approved doula training course at Douglas College and have attended various seminars and workshops to continue my education over the years.

Personal notes: I attended my first birth in June of 1997. I come to the field of labor support through a lifetime interest in the birth process, love of supporting women and belief that birth is a natural process, full of beauty.
