Services: My Services  Meet initially for a consultation to introduce myself and discuss my services and answer any questions.  I offer continuous phone and email support to my clients throughout pregnancy.  Once you have requested me to act as your Doula, we will arrange two prenatal visits. The first visit will be around 36 weeks. During this visit we will discuss any questions you may have, sign the contract, and go over exactly what your expectations of a Doula are. We will discuss your birth plan comprehensively at this meeting.  The second visit will be used to continue building a rapport and discuss any new questions or concerns you or I might have. We will discuss pain management, natural labor stimulation and cover any special needs you may have during labour and birth.  After we have signed a contract and you have reached the 36 week point, I am on call 24/7. I will carry my cell phone with me at all times, and will not leave the Rochester area without advising you.  I will remain with you once active labor has begun until one to two hours after your baby is born.  I will suggest non-medical support techniques to help with the labor and birth.  Usually at one day postpartum, I will come and check on you and your partner. I’ll answer any questions or give you a referral to the proper professional.  I will assist in providing information and supplying emotional support by telephone on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care after the birth, as requested  I will meet with you two to three weeks postpartum to discuss the birth and finalize payment.

Qualifications: Attended Birth Doula Certification class offered by DONA International. Attended required childbirth series at a local hospital. Read the required reading to become a certified doula. Have currently attended three births.

Personal notes: . I am the mother of two beautiful daughters and have experienced both hospital and home birth. I am passionate about birth, babies and mothers. I believe birth is a right of passage in a woman’s life that is sacred and should be preserved in her memory as a beautiful, empowering, life changing event. I believe a woman should be supported, informed and have the birth that she desires.
