Qualifications: I am an ALACE trained labor assistant. I am currently finishing the qualifications to be certified by ALACE. I have also attended and completed midwifery assistants training. I also hold a BA in Political Science from Indiana University.
Personal notes: I am a 27 year old married mother of a two year old daughter and we are expecting a new baby sometime around the New Year. I have been participating in birth work for over 2 years now and am an ALACE trained labor assistant. I specialize in working with single mothers, GLBT families, and VBAC mothers. I have attended various types of births including home, hospital, water and birth center births. In addition to Doula services I also teach babywearing classes and make custom baby slings and mei tais. I pride myself in providing family centered care, of the highest level.
Due to my up coming birth I am only accepting a limited number of birth doula clients with an estimated due date after April 1th, 2008. I am however currently taking new postpartum clients and baby wearing clients until December 15th 2007 and again after March 10st 2008.
