Services: Annette Scott provides: ▪ Explanations of medical procedures and interventions ▪ Emotional support ▪ Advice during pregnancy ▪ Exercise and physical suggestions to make pregnancy and childbirth more comfortable ▪ Help with preparation of a birth plan ▪ Facilitation of communication between members of laboring woman's birth team ▪ Massage and other non-pharmacological pain relief measures, aromatherapy, any other non-medical comfort techniques she may be trained in ▪ Positioning suggestions during labor and birth ▪ Support the partner so that s/he can provide support and encouragement to the laboring woman ▪ Help to avoid unnecessary interventions ▪ Help with breastfeeding preparation and beginning breastfeeding. Doulas work to assist the client in obtaining information for the client to make informed decisions regarding medical procedures.

Qualifications: Annette Scott is a license prenatal massage therapist, yoga teacher and certified birth doula.

Personal notes: I studied massage at Florida's School of Massage in Gainesville. The school's teaching is grounded in deep listening and the power of conscious, compassionate touch. My work and on-going education reflects this focus. I see my development as a constant expansion and study of four interrelated aspects: my state of attention, the quality of my touch, the clarity of intention and my ability to listen. Having listened to and upon making contact with you, I blend techniques which include deep connective tissue, the use of specific essential oils, Trager approaches, Polarity, Reiki, Crano-Sacral and Neuro-muscular therapy to address the client's needs.
