Name: Natalie Evans
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Phone: 773-465-4337
Email address: mamabellybirth@yahoo.com

Services: As a Doula, I attend to couples or women in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I will provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner. I can make suggestions for labor progress; help with relaxation, massage, positioning and other techniques for comfort. I am independent and self-employed. As your Doula, I am working for you, not your caregiver, or your hospital.

Qualifications: am a certified Childbirth Educator through ALACE (Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators). I have enjoyed my rewarding work as a doula for over a year, and am DONA (Doulas of North America) trained. I have attended a wide variety of births in the home and hospital setting, including Cesarean and VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) births. I am the Chairperson of Member Services for NEIDA (NorthEastern Illinois Doula Association). I am also trained trough ICASA (Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault) as and advocate for survivors of sexual abuse.

Personal notes: Three years ago, I had a marvelous thing happen to me. I gave birth to my daughter. She was a planned home birth, but because of complications, I ended up birthing at a hospital. Our midwife came to the birth but in the role of a doula. Her presence is one of the major factors in my husband being able to fully support me, while feeling supported himself. The birth was a joyful, empowering event. Soon after having my baby, I realized that talking about birth and attending births was something I strongly desired to do. It was more than a job it was a calling. My husband and I are now expecting our second child in February. We are birthing at home with our same wonderful midwife, who attended our daughter's birth.
