Qualifications: I have been present at 50+ births. Out of those 5 were a labor assistant-client relationship. I worked as a labor and delivery nurse a year before quitting due to ethical concerns and a disgust for the way women and babies are treated in hospitals.. Five of these were home births (I was part of the birth team at three of them and a laboring mom at two..my son’s births).

Personal notes: I help pregnant women and their families to become educated about the safety and normalcy of the childbearing year. I make referrals to homebirth midwives and urge all women to consider this option. I believe a woman-centered, non-technical birth to be the safest choice for healthy mothers and babies. Pregnancy and childbirth require a mom’s active participation and decision-making to ensure a safe birth for herself and her baby. I recognize that birth is a process which unfolds differently for each woman and baby. It is a sacred event that transcends our full human understanding. I want to help families have a low-intervention, woman and baby-centered childbirth experience. I believe breastmilk is the best food for babies and want to help you be a success at breastfeeding. I teach natural childbirth education classes and serve as a labor assistant from Starkville, MS to Hattiesburg MS including the Jackson and Meridian areas. I am a member of the MS Alliance of Childbirth Assistants, certified as a Labor Assistant by ALACE. I hold trust birth meetings (www.trustbirth.com) at my house the 2nd Tuesdays of the month.
