Services:
Birth Doula
We meet twice before the birth for discussion of your plans, hopes and fears and to introduce pain-coping practices. This is a time for your questions and for learning more about labour and birth.
I am on call for your birth 24-hours a day starting two weeks before your est. due date and come to your home to assist you in early labour as well as being with you at the hospital if you are transferring.
During labour and birth I give emotional and physical support and provide assistance with positions, progression and pain-coping. Mothers appreciate my warmth and my calm, continuous presence through their labour and birth. Partners are strengthened in their role as loving supporters by my gentle guidance. I am also a massage practitioner so massage often plays a significant role in the care I provide.
After your baby's birth I remain to assist with initial breastfeeding until you and your partner feel ready to have time alone as a family (usually about two hours).
We meet twice afterward to chat about the birth, address any questions or challenges that you might be experiencing as parents (including breastfeeding challenges) and to give me a chance to admire your baby.
I work with midwives, family doctors and obstetricians, provide services to all families, queer, straight or single and attend both home and hospital births.
Postpartum Doula
I provide emotional and breastfeeding support, practical newborn care tips and assistance with household tasks. Easing your transition to parenting your growing family is the ultimate goal of our time together.

Services are flexibly tailored to the needs of your family.

Personal notes: I've loved giving massage since I was a kid, and I vividly recall the day that I found out that if I wanted, I could make it my living; I felt like someone had told me that I could have a job that paid me to go to the playground every day!
Fourteen years later, I had this experience for a second time while listening to a friend tell the story of the birth of her child. I felt like I had a tuning fork in my belly and her words vibrated in my frequency; I knew from head-to-toe that this is what I wanted to do in the world.
These elements have come together in my work with childbearing families. I consider myself very fortunate to have such stimulating, challenging and delightful work.
