Services:
I provide the following services as a Birth Doula:
- A free consultation to interview each other
- A minimum of 2 prenatal visits, including Birth Plan assistance if needed
- Free access to my lending library
- Being on-call, 24-hours a day from week 38 until your baby is born
- Continuous support during labor, birth, and 2 hours postpartum
- At least 1 postpartum visit, including breastfeeding assistance if needed
- Unlimited telephone and e-mail counseling throughout pregnancy and up to 6 weeks postpartum
- Limited birth/postpartum photography
For the Birth Doula services above, I charge $300 for hospital births and $150 for homebirths.
I also make and sell baby slings, organic cotton breast pads, herbal lotion, and massage oil combinations.
Qualifications: I am a Certified Birth Doula through ALACE (Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators). I am also certified in Adult, Child, and Infant CPR.
Personal notes: I am the oldest sister of 6 children; the last 4 were homebirths with a midwife and I was present. I am a homeschool graduate and an aspiring midwife. I will be starting midwifery college (MCU) as well as LPN training (FTCC) in Autumn 2008. I have attended 7 births since training with ALACE in May 2007, and am happy to provide references upon request.
