Services: I help mothers prepare for the birth experience. I assist parents in the creation of a birth plan, answer questions and provide accurate and current information about the prenatal period, pain management options, the birth process and newborn needs and infant development. I also teach and provide physical support measures during labor such as guided relaxation, breathing pattern and attention focusing techniques, comfort measures, massage, body position, and movement suggestions to facilate labor and birth.
Qualifications: Registered Nurse in the Midwifery graduate degree program at UIC (May 2009); completed DONA certification workshop; 4 years experience as a postpartum doula; CPR certified; AWHONN certified for Fetal Heart Monitoring.
