Services: I usually come to two or three prenatal visits where we discuss the natural rhythm of labor, comfort measures that I will use, interventions and medications and what a doula does and doesn't do. I have a lot of information about circumcision that I give as well. We develop a birth plan and I can go to a prenatal visit if you would like. I talk about your partner�s role and what they see themselves doing. I can come up with exercises you can do together prenatally to practice for your baby's birth. I am never there to take away from your partner�s experience, only to enhance it. I come to your birth whenever you want me there. I usually come to your home and we labor there until active labor and beyond. I help you to have a smooth transition to the hospital. I will stay until the birth of your baby and make sure that breastfeeding is established. I don�t leave until I know you are fed and have drink and are comfortable. I am a presence that is there if your labor is two hours or day days.

I take labor notes and pictures (although not professionally, I know great photographers) and come to one or two postpartum visits to talk about the birth of your baby and what you thought. If something happens that you didn�t expect, we process that together and talk about your decisions. I have sitz bathes and breast compresses and knowledge, support and compassion. I believe completely that every woman has the right and ability to give birth naturally, gracefully and wonderfully.

Qualifications: I am certified through DONA (Doulas of North America) as a birth doula. I have been a doula for two years and have a lot of experience with natural birth. I am also a member of the Childbirth Collective and use that as a great resource for my clients.

Personal notes: I am a birth doula in the Twin Cities and I have been attending families for six years. I believe pregnancy and birth are normal, natural and healthy processes. I believe that the knowledge of how to birth exists within every woman and therefore seek to instill in the mother confidence in her innate ability to give birth. I believe in providing women and their partners the information necessary to make educated choices regarding pregnancy, labor, birth and parenting. I then come to 1-3 postpartum visits and we talk about your birth, make sure that you are being taken care of and getting good food, and breastfeeding is going well. I brew up an organic sitz bath (made by me) which is so incredibly important postpartum, and bring that to your home. Along with the sitz bath, I brew and bring organic Mother's Milk tea from Traditional Medicinal's. I absolutely believe that every woman is capable of having a natural birth in a safe and trusting environment. I am here to educate and calm you both prenatally and during your birth.
